What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi is a firm believer in comfort and convenience. This is why all new models that we have in our showroom come with keyless entry and start. This technology lets you enter your car and begin driving while keeping the key fob in your pocket or purse.
This system operates through proximity sensors in the doors and trunks, coupled with the key radio pulse generator in the key fob. Here are some things you should know about Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
Audi proximity detection enables you to begin and enter your vehicle without having to take the key out of your purse or pocket. This system allows you to unlock your car's doors and trunk, as well as the engine, with a single touch of the sensor button on the key.
A sensor based on sound is also known as capacitive sensors, detects the presence of objects nearby by utilizing an acoustic wave. The sensors produce an oscillator-generated signal. The signal is sent into the air by a microphone which transforms it into an audio file. The audio files are compared to determine how similar they are and how close they are. If they are close enough that the system sends an alert signal to the key and transmit an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
The first step towards an easier and more comfortable driving experience is proximity detection. The Audi advanced key also has remote start capabilities which lets you start the engine of your car from outside of the range of your key FOB. The key fob can be used to also start the vehicle from inside a pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system makes use of proximity sensors inside the trunk lid, doors and key fob. The sensors open the doors when the key fob is in close proximity to the vehicle (about five feet). Then, when you pull the door handle or open the trunk the vehicle will recognize your key and starts the engine.
You can also use the key fob to activate the push-button function of your vehicle. When the key fob is inside of your purse or pocket you can press the Start/Stop button in the center console to engage the engine. The car's sensors confirm the authenticity of the key fob and when it's confirmed, the engine will start.
